Cirò pronounced “Cheer-O,” is a fresh and stylish Italian eatery founded by Saundra Buck and Francis McFadden. You can enjoy a variety of dishes, from pasta and flatbread pizza to classic Italian dishes, salads, desserts, and more. Cirò, a restaurant founded by Francis McFadden and Saundra Buck in the Fall of 2019, faced unprecedented challenges in its first year of operation. After only four months of serving customers, the global pandemic forced the closure of many businesses, including Cirò. As if that was not enough, the Cirò family suffered a tragic loss when Fran McFadden passed away on December 12, 2021. Saundra and the rest of the staff were determined to overcome this adversity and honor Fran’s memory.
Saundra Buck
Saundra Buck is a local woman from right here in Athens County. She joined the United States Army and was deployed overseas twice as an Ammunition Supervisor. Saundra also graduated from Hocking College before embarking on co-owning a restaurant.
Francis McFadden
Francis McFadden attended Drexel University in Philadelphia and holds degrees in hotel restaurant management, business administration, and education. He had over 30 years of combined food and beverage service experience. He was at one time the Chief Culinary Officer and faculty member at Ohio University in the Food and Nutrition Program.
